Import / Export Data Files


This page allows you to import and export departments, categories, sub-categories, and products.

EXPORT DATA

Use the check boxes below to select which files you wish to have exported to tab-delimited text files. The export files can then be downloaded to your computer for offline processing by your favorite spreadsheet or database program. You may modify the export file(s) and then "import" their data back into your store.

IMPORT DATA
Import File to Process:
Once you have selected or entered the proper import file name to process, click the IMPORT DATA button. Depending on the size of the import file, this process may take a few minutes. Therefore, please be patient and allow this process to finish. Only press the IMPORT DATA button one time! NOTE: the store will process the import file by its EXACT file name and therefore, it must be called: "departments.txt", "categories.txt", "subcategories.txt", "products.txt", or "productoptions.txt". CAUTION - make sure you have a complete store backup BEFORE performing this function. The very nature of this feature provides for very little in the form of error checking. Therefore, be extremely careful when importing data into your store. Failure to carefully construct data within an import file may result in your store malfunctioning or not working at all. Use the import features at your own risk!

*IMPORT* DATA

Import File to Process:

NOTE: the store will process the import file by its EXACT file name and therefore, it must be called: "departments.txt", "categories.txt", "subcategories.txt", "products.txt", or "productoptions.txt".

CHECK STORE DATABASE

Click the button below to check the accessibility of your store's inventory database after importing data. This function will look for and create a list of records that have been assigned to an invalid department, category, sub-category, or product. These are called "orphaned records" which can be created by importing incomplete or incorrectly assigned records.

Please select which files you would like checked and optionally have its orphaned records removed. NOTE: records in the Department database cannot be orphaned which is why it is not listed below.
